Process map for directors and management

Map how work moves between departments

Where is information handed over, entered again or checked manually? Request a free initial process map of one information flow within your organisation.

A compact overview helps directors and managers decide which handover deserves attention, what is still unknown and what a sensible next step could be. You do not need to choose a technical solution first.

  • First conversation: around 30 minutes

What you receive

An overview of one information flow

Around five to eight steps: the departments, systems and any external party involved. Including the information or files being transferred and the manual tasks in between.

Visible assumptions and open questions

We identify what the map is based on. Up to three questions or possible areas of concern provide a starting point for discussion.

A focused discussion

With Joshua, check what is accurate and what is missing. Decide which handover needs further investigation, or whether a simpler working agreement may be sufficient.

Entirely fictional example

From customer order to logistics partner

This invented example shows the format. Every step is an assumption, not a description of a client or an industry benchmark.

Six assumed steps — reading order from 1 to 6
  1. Assumption

    Sales · email

A customer order arrives in a shared inbox.

  2. Assumption

    Order administration · check

An employee checks the item, quantity and delivery address.

  3. Assumption

    Order administration · order system

The employee retypes the checked information.

  4. Assumption

    Planning · planning file

Planning collects the orders in a working file.

  5. Assumption

    Planning → external partner

A delivery file goes to the logistics partner.

  6. Assumption

    Logistics partner → planning

Planning checks whether both receipt and processing have been confirmed.

Three questions to check

  • Is the same information entered again during the handover?
  • Who handles missing or inconsistent order information?
  • How does planning know if a file has arrived but has not yet been processed?

These questions identify what we want to understand. They do not establish a delay, an error or an opportunity for savings.

How we label the evidence

Confirmed
Explained by you or confirmed during the conversation, with the date recorded.
Public source
Information from, for example, your company website, with a source and access date. A website description does not confirm how daily work actually happens.
Assumption / question
A possible step or handover that still needs to be checked with you.

From request to a focused next step

  1. Describe one information flow

Explain which information or files pass between departments and where people wait, retype, check or correct something. Technical terms are not needed.

  2. We agree the scope

Joshua replies to your request within one working day. This does not mean the map will be ready by then. If the request is too broad or information is missing, we first choose one relevant handover together.

  3. Joshua prepares the map

We manually prepare an initial overview based on your explanation and, where useful, public company information. Familiar process patterns are used only as assumptions for discussion.

  4. We discuss what is accurate

The first conversation takes around 30 minutes. We check the map, incorporate the agreed corrections once and identify a question worth pursuing. A request is not a confirmed appointment.

An initial exploration with clear boundaries

The map covers one process or information flow. It is not a full business analysis, security audit, technical feasibility study or quantified business case. We do not draw conclusions about your systems or potential savings without further investigation.

A suitable next step may involve Intelligent Automation: automating recurring work, possibly with AI assistance. Or Managed File Transfer (MFT): scheduling and checking file transfers. A combination or a simpler working agreement may also fit.

Joshua guides the exploration and discusses the next step with you. If technical work is needed, Korper can involve suitable specialists. That follow-up is agreed separately.

Free and without obligation

The initial scoped process map and all exploratory conversations are free of charge and without obligation. You decide on further investigation, technical design or implementation only once the approach and costs are clear.
